Dredging the 18th Lake - 2006

In 2006 the 18th lake was dredged to remove a build up of natural materials which had slowly increased over previous years. The lake had become choked and stagnat. Pits were excavated in the woodland area between the 1st and 12th holes to contain the removed material. Before work began the water level had to be reduced. During this process as many fish as possible were removed to be re-introduced when complete. Four sediment traps were also installed to the rear of the tee to reduce future contamination to the lake. A new single18th tee was also constructed and a pathway leading to the green.
